6th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Dedicated Servers UK

Intel Xeon 6 bare metal for databases, virtualisation, AI inference and demanding enterprise workloads.

6th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable, also known as Intel Xeon 6, brings Intel's latest Xeon Scalable architecture to dedicated server environments. eServers currently offers Granite Rapids P-core servers in the UK, combining Xeon 6 processors with DDR5 memory, NVMe or high-capacity HDD storage, and unmetered network connectivity.

With dedicated bare metal, your workloads have exclusive access to the server's physical CPU, memory and storage resources. This makes Xeon 6 suitable for applications that need predictable compute performance without sharing the underlying hardware with other customers.

Available Xeon 6 Configurations

Intel Xeon 6527P — London

A 24-core / 48-thread Granite Rapids processor with a 3.00GHz base frequency, 128GB DDR5 memory, 2 × 1.92TB NVMe SSDs and 5Gbps unmetered bandwidth. A strong option for databases, business applications and compute workloads where fast storage and higher network throughput are important.

Intel Xeon 6521P — Worcester

A 24-core / 48-thread Granite Rapids processor with a 2.60GHz base frequency, 128GB DDR5 memory, 12 × 14TB HDDs and 2 × 960GB SSDs with 1Gbps unmetered bandwidth. This configuration is better suited to large storage requirements, backups, archives and data-heavy applications.

Xeon 6 Architecture

Xeon 6 Architecture & Performance

Intel Xeon 6 is built around two different processor approaches: Granite Rapids Performance-cores (P-cores) and Sierra Forest Efficient-cores (E-cores).

Granite Rapids focuses on compute performance and is designed for workloads such as databases, enterprise applications, virtualisation, HPC and AI inference. The current eServers Xeon 6 range uses Granite Rapids processors.

Sierra Forest is designed around high core density and efficient scale-out processing, making it more relevant to workloads such as containers, microservices and other applications that can distribute work across many cores. Sierra Forest is not currently part of the listed eServers Xeon 6 configurations.

Xeon 6521P or 6527P?

Both current eServers processors provide 24 cores and 48 threads, but they target slightly different requirements.

The 6527P runs at a higher 3.00GHz base frequency and is paired with NVMe storage and 5Gbps connectivity in the current London configuration. It is the more natural choice when application performance, fast storage and network throughput are priorities.

The 6521P runs at a 2.60GHz base frequency and is available with a large 12-drive HDD configuration in Worcester. It makes more sense when storage capacity is more important than maximum local storage performance.

Xeon 6 also brings DDR5 memory support and PCIe 5.0, providing the platform for high-bandwidth memory and modern storage or networking hardware.
